Especially for my mum

Of course as it's mother's day I was tasked with conjuring up something for my mum and decided to go with a quilting theme, as she is such a keen quilter.

Here's what I came up with...

Lots of scraps of DSP utilised in this card using a square punch, which I have then laid out on a top note (Stampin', Up! Die).

The lettering for 'MUM' comes from one of Papermania's stamp sets from the Urban Stamp range - Stitched Alphabets. Perfect for a quilter :).

Owl and the pussy cat for a wedding

Today I have a commission to share with you that I am really proud of, I wasn't expecting to be able to come up with anything as fitting as this for a wedding card. All I had to go on were the wedding colours (purple and silver) and the need for inclusion of an owl and pussycat in a pea green boat...

I printed out 4 copies of the same image and then selected areas to layer up and create a 3D image, which I then mounted on purple (Elegant Eggplant) card and backed with silver mirror card.

If you look closely you will see I used the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder in the background of the Cream coloured card and fortunately had a few scraps of some card I had run through the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder last time I borrowed this off my crafty friend Amy.

Some diamante's and lace ribbon works well to finish it off, although the photo doesn't show the elegance I tried to achieve on this card.

I hope the bride and groom, who are getting married today, like it.

Quick case with Summer Afternoon

I CASE'd this card from Natasha Zandbergen, as I just thought the layout, although simple, would work for many cards. Just by changing the colours you could create cards for men and women with a variety of stamped images.

The stamp set is Summer Afternoon from Stampin' Up of course.

Little beetle card

I picked up this cute little beetle stamp in the Hobbycraft sale for 50 pence, and it's already feature on at least 5 cards for men.

This one uses the Perfect Polka Dots and Argyle embossing folders from Stampin' Up! as well as some cotton ribbon, which is great for stamping onto.

I've made the car look 3D by raising it up on sticky pads. The layout is very simple but I know the card will be suitable for many people.

Fun cocktail birthday card

Here's a fun and bright card created using the Happy Hour stamp set from Stampin' Up!. You can use any colour for the cocktail and even tailor the drink to the recipients taste with the different glasses available in this stamp set.

If you look closely, you may spot that I have handwritten the sentiment for a change, as I couldn't find the stamp set I wanted quick enough to make this card as it needed sending the same day!

Stampin' Up! colours: Lucky Limeade, Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise

New home card in an array of colours

When I returned to the UK in January, I needed to catch up with a number of people who had recently moved house. What better way to wish them well than with a new home card. I couldn't resist making a few of these once I came up with a quick hand-drawn template for the house which I cut out of scraps of DSP.

Here's a close up:

Just believe in colour co-ordinated cards

With my intention to try and post more regularly, I have another card to share with you this week. I've created 2 different colour versions, using the Stampin' Up! stamp set Just Believe, which I have inked with markers to pick out the flowers in co-ordinating colours.

The background behind the sentiment (from the Create a Cupcake stamp set) has been inked in the same colour ink as the base card, so it's a very subtle colouring.

Stampin' Up! colours: Pool Party, Pink Pirouette

Travel themed birthday card

Happy birthday to my very good friend Vicky!

I've used the Top Note die for the main piece on this card, along with the Open Sea stamp set from Stampin' Up! In fact most of my stash currently is still Stampin' Up! as I do really love their products.

Stampin' Up! colours: Wisteria Wonder, Old Olive

Baby elephants

I have a couple of baby cards to share with you today, which use the Top Note die and Patterned Occasions (retired) and Occassions Alphabet stamp sets from Stampin' Up!

The 'elephant' stamp is ideal for a baby card. I've inked the stamp with Stampin' Write marker pens, in order to pick out the flower in a different colour.

Stampin' Up! colours used: Pink Pirouette, Bashful Blue, So Saffron
